What is the GRE??

the GRE exam is a broad assessment of your critical thinking, analytical writing, verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning skills — all skills developed over the course of many years. Some schools may also require you to take one or more GRE Subject Tests.

What is the GMAT??

The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is a computer–adaptive test (CAT) required by most business schools. If you want to get accepted to a competitive school, your GMAT score is very important. However, GMAT scores vary in importance at different schools.

GMAT vs GRE: What Are the Differences?

Graduate programs across the nation require prospective students to submit either a GRE score or a GMAT score. Although the GMAT is primarily used in the business school application process and the GRE is typically used for other graduate majors, many programs give applicants the option of submitting the results of either exam.

The GMAT consists of a 30-minute Analytic section with one essay, a 30-minute Integrated Reasoning section, a 75-minute Quantitative section and a 75- minute Verbal section.

How will business schools use my GRE score?

Since the GMAT and the GRE are completely different tests, comparing scores on the two is like comparing apples to oranges. ETS (the folks who administer the GRE) and GMAC (the folks who administer the GMAT) both use comparison tools to put student’s scores into perspective, but many MBA programs use the ETS comparison tool as a benchmark.
